About this online program

A unique program for beginning Band and Strings students.

Beginning a musical instrument can be challenging for some students, especially if they have had little or no experience learning music. Finger coordination, making a good sound and reading notes all pose their own special challenges.

If your son or daughter is struggling and you would like some help, the Flute Studio offers a short term course on beginning band and string instruments. As an experienced band and strings teacher, I can work with your son or daughter on an individual basis and help them catch up with their class at school.

The following instruments are offered as part of this program:

Woodwinds                   Brass                              Strings

Flute                               Trumpet                         Violin

Clarinet                          Trombone                      Viola

Saxophone                    Baritone                         Cello

                                        Tuba

Students enrolling in this program will receive one-on-one tutoring for a maximum of 8 - 30 minute lessons. Topics covered will include note reading, tone production, rhythm and practice skills. At the end of the 8 sessions, if you wish to have further study, a referral to a specialist on your son or daughter's instrument can be arranged.

Cost for this program:

$160.00 for 8 lessons.

All music is included.

Students must supply the instrument, reeds, strings, etc.
